Running the Nets – A First Look at A Study in Static

Let us hop straight into this without much ado. A Study in Static is out! New cards (that are actually out), my first impressions, etc.

I’m Streaming Now, Too!

I have joined this whole streaming craze! Admittedly, unlike a lot of people, I’m streaming myself playing a card game at the moment, but once I can get my computer to cooperate a bit more, I’ll likely expand to stuff besides Netrunner.

RtNfFaP – Corp Poisoned My Disel

So, it looks like one of the megacorps managed to slip something into a recent shipment of Disel, and it has done unkind things to me. So, instead of a fill article, allow me to present you with what I’m playing right now while I try to get over whatever they spiked it with.

WNG – Board Games on Digital Platforms

Sorry, sorry! My reviews/first impressions continue to get a bit held up for various reasons. So, in the meanwhile, how about we editorialize a bit?

Board games on digital platforms. This is a thing. I know it seems a bit weird when you say it, but it really is happening. And it is starting to get a lot more popular. Not to say it hasn’t been around a while. I mean, we’ve had all sorts of community made stuff for ages. Magic the Gathering Online has been trucking for a while. But the whole app craze thing has really seen an explosion of official releases of (popular!) board games onto phones and computers.

RtNfFaP – Corporation or Runner First?

Today’s installment of RtNfFaP is going to be a bit short, but it is going to address something that I feel is important: The choice of whether to play Corporation or Runner first during a match.

Having played for several months at this point, I’ve found that a lot of players seem to be a bit passive about what they want to play. “What does it matter,” they say? “I’m going to play both at some point anyway.” And there is indeed something to be said for that. But the nature of Netrunner’s scoring system means that it does matter. It can, in fact, be the difference between winning a match and losing it.

WNG – First Impressions of The Lord of the Rings The Card Game

So, while Cooperation Month (and then some) may have passed us by, we’re still in a month that emphasizes the spirit of cooperation, sharing, love, and playing with that special someone in your life… Games. GAMES. Playing GAMES with that someone special.

So, I figure it isn’t a bad idea to continue on with discussing games to play with that special someone. Or by yourself, if that’s more your beat. Or hell, with several special someones if you really want. That, and I’ve actually played it a few times (even if I haven’t taken pictures), which means that this is a slightly more informed first impression than normal!

RtNfFaP – Rigging it up as an Anarch

So, back a bit ago, I spent about a week toying with trying to make a “Big Rig” Anarch deck. For those unfamiliar with the idea, a “Big Rig” deck is one based around the idea of the Runner assembling their complete rig (full set of breakers + any tools they need to help them out) quickly, and then sustain it with a powerful economy. This deck (at least until the release of Cyber Exodus) was the domain of Kate both because of her ability and the relative power of the Shaper card suite.
